Films

I trained in screen production and theatre design, which gave me the skills to bring stories to life on stage and screen. As a writer and director, I’ve created short films across genres — from romantic comedy to documentary and dark comedy — each exploring resilience, humour, and the human condition. My films (The Last Fortune Cookie, Art, Bars & Scars, and Not Like Me) have been selected for international festivals, and my screenwriting has gained recognition in global competitions including Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival, ScreenCraft, and HollyShorts. Film continues to shape the way I write fiction, giving my novels cinematic pacing, vivid imagery, and character‑driven storytelling.

  • The Last Fortune Cookie

    A short romantic comedy about self-fulfilling prophesy as Chris the pessimist meets the vivacious Sue, as they share a bag of prophetic fortune cookies.

  • Art Bars & Scars

    Two ex-inmates Wayne and Mark, return to prison to exhibit their work in the Boggo Road Gaol Art exhibition. Both men use art as a form of self-rehabilitation after serving life sentences for murder and manslaughter and are strong advocates for the human rights of prisoners.

  • Not Like Me

    Twelve year old Jack, plays with knives and retreats into the world of vegetable carving to escape a violent past and an overbearing stepfather.
