Bean Spirits

Logline Senior Constable Beatrice Bean must solve a murder while being haunted by her mischievous brother Jack, whose fractured memories reveal that her own life may be in danger.

Synopsis Bean Spirits is a darkly comic paranormal detective story about two misfit siblings bound by blood, chaos, and an unsolved crime.

Jack Bean is a fifty‑year‑old nuisance with a limp, a temper, and a love of setting traps for cult doorknockers. His younger sister, Beatrice, is a weary Senior Constable who has spent her life rescuing him — until a catastrophic car crash leaves Beatrice injured and Jack on life support.

In the aftermath, Beatrice begins to see and hear Jack’s spirit: an infuriating, amnesic ghost offering sibling annoyance, comic commentary, and cryptic fragments of the hours leading up to the crash. Assigned to a local murder investigation, she quickly discovers the case intersects with Jack’s final days.

The trail leads to Bobby Dean, a low‑level con artist with a toddler, a dream car, and a knack for manipulation. Before the crash, Bobby convinced Jack to help with a robbery, then abandoned him with the stolen cash — and caused the crash trying to get it back. Unbeknownst to her, Beatrice was the getaway driver.

Now, with her career on the line and Bobby desperate to silence her, Beatrice must untangle the truth, outwit a criminal, and decide what to do about the stolen money — and about Jack’s life support. But Jack’s spirit isn’t going anywhere until his little sister is safe.

Ferals in Space

Book One: Mechanica

Logline Five hundred years after NASA abandoned its failed lunar mission, a clumsy robot raccoon and her ragtag friends uncover a secret that could shatter their world — and draw Humans back to the Moon.

Short Synopsis Ferals in Space: Mechanica is a humorous, heartfelt middle‑grade sci‑fi adventure with series potential, blending the misfit charm of The Wild Robot and A Rover’s Story with the chaos of Gremlins and the wonder of E.T.

On the far side of the Moon, forgotten AI robots have built a steampunk city from Earth’s discarded space junk and e‑waste. Mechanica is home to bureaucratic rats, sentient trash‑bots, and a school system doing its best to function amid short‑circuiting robots and combustible food fights.

Ada Bolts, a clumsy robot raccoon, accidentally awakens Sprout — a green organic creature who sneezes lightning, cries slime, and insists “Humans are real.” Suddenly, Ada becomes the reluctant guardian of the most dangerous lifeform in Mechanica. As the authoritarian Rodent Acquisition Taskforce declares her a criminal, Ada must dodge Ratrods, hijack a Ratcopter, and rely on unlikely friends to protect Sprout.

Things escalate when Ada discovers that Sprout’s energy may broadcast a signal powerful enough to alert Humans to Mechanica’s existence. Saving her city means choosing whether to hide, fight, or be brave enough to be found.

The story explores belonging, resilience, and what it means to find your place when you feel one squeak away from the scrapheap. While this book stands alone, it also seeds the mysteries of the next two instalments are currently in draft.
