Writer • Illustrator • Filmmaker
I create stories about misfits, mysteries and worlds slightly askew.
I have always lived somewhere between words and pictures. I began my creative life through drawing, illustration and theatre design before moving into filmmaking, screenwriting and graphic novels.
Across every medium, I find myself returning to the same ideas: outsiders searching for where they belong, forgotten things finding new purpose, and characters learning that what makes them different might be their greatest strength.
My professional experience working in museums, galleries and archives has shaped the way I see stories. I have spent years surrounded by objects, images and fragments of the past, preserving the things people leave behind. That fascination with memory, meaning and forgotten worlds continues to influence my fiction.
My middle grade graphic novel Scraps grew from a love of strange creatures, abandoned objects and the question of what happens when creativity exists inside a world built entirely on rules.
My novel Bean Spirits explores grief, family and letting go through a paranormal mystery about love, loss and the connections that remain after someone is gone.
Whether I’m creating books, films or illustrations, I’m interested in the characters who don’t quite fit the world around them and what happens when they finally stop trying to.
